We’re Re-Opening Soon!

Announcing the comeback from an unexpectedly long hiatus of Voices, Tenses and Paragraphs.

Since the last post on Feb 15, I had been busy with two exciting turns of events.

First, in late March, I had moved with my family from the city of Iwanuma, Miyagi to Soma, Fukushima, my wife’s home town. Though it took some time to settle into the new apartment and daily routine, I’m happy to report that Soma is a beautiful town with unexpected vistas everywhere—suffice to say that I haven’t missed Iwanuma (or even Sendai for that matter) since the move.

Second, about the same time, I had signed a one-year contract with AIMR at Tohoku University as a science writer. My task here is to write twelve monthly press-release-style, 300-word-long highlights for their latest research articles. For the curious, the April and May highlights are already out (although they will be shortened later to the said length). I am very excited about this endeavor. I will also set up a page dedicated to my highlights soon.

That said, V,T&P will resume early July. Beside the usual topics and writing advice, I plan to explore the inclusion of natural text processing whenever the opportunity presents itself. So please do take and I’ll catch you when we re-open!
